  Askov American. Pub. Date July 4, 1935 PNEUMONIA FATAL TO BIRCH CREEK MAN Gunsten Paulson Dies at Age of 77; Was Second Death in Family in Five Week*. For the second time within five weeks death entered the Paulson home in Birch Creek township when Gunsten Paulson. 77 year old farmer, passed away early Saturday mominc. June 29. after being ill with pneumonia about a week. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Aune. who died May 22. after a short illness. Gunsten Paulson was bom in Bvcland. near Chrisdansund. Norway, nn Nov. 8. 1857. and when four years oil came with his parent* to America, settling near Madison. Wis. About 35 years aim he came to the Birch Creek community, and was united in marriage to Minnie Christenson in 1994. Immediately afterwards they took up farming 12 miles west of Willow River and had resided there since. Funeral services were held from the Birch Creek Nordland Lutheran church Monday at 2 p. m. with Rev. J. O. Johanson officiating. Interment was made at the Nordland cemetery and the body was laid to rest beside that of the daughter. Aune. Mr. Paulson leaves to mourn his death, his wife. Minnie, two daughters. Mrs. Toivo Wahtola of Minneapolis. and Lillian at home, five sons. Palmer of Denham, and Arnold. John. Gordon, and Alvin at home: two sisters. Mr*. Tina Tollefson of Erskine, and Mrs. Chas. Lawrence of Groningen; and a crandchild. Sigfred Paul*on. son of Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Paulson. The pallbearers at the funeral were P. R. Overom. L O. Hatleli. J G Danelski. Charles Johnson. Ed Ellson and Richard Youncberc. The sincere sympathy of a larec circle of friends is extended to the sorrowing family in the loss of their beloved one.
